New Virtual Mentoring Workshop For Women In Business

Women Mentorships

About a year ago, I wrote a post on the importance of having a business mentor. But seeking out the right mentor can be hard — especially when you’re a woman in business with experience of her own. How do you attract the right person for the job? How do you create a mentoring relationship without seeming too needy? How do you set goals and boundaries without being too regimented?

I was struggling with these very questions when I heard about a Virtual Mentoring Class lead by Kathy Korman Frey of the Hot Mommas Project. It’s a three-week-long online class with phone conferences, handouts, and even e-mail copy you can snag to help you approach potential mentors.

My Own Virtual Mentor Experience

I took the class last month, and it changed the way I handle relationships with peers. I’ve always taken the perspective that you should ask for what you want. But this class taught me a more effective way to ask for help and advice, so I could judge people’s interest and level of commitment before I go any further.

I can’t go into too much detail without giving away some of Kathy’s secrets, but at $99, this class is a steal. While there’s no set dates at this moment, Kathy said she would create another class if she could get enough students.

Check out class details on the Hot Mommas blog, or e-mail support@hotmommasproject.org to express your interest and get more info.

Do you have a business mentor? Have you mentored someone in the past? Let me know about your experiences in the comments section.
