Let Your Customers Tell You How To Succeed

October 26th, 2009 | Blogging, General

SurveyI grew up watching “Family Feud.” So perhaps it’s no wonder that surveys are one of my favorite marketing tools.

But what other method can generate such accurate information for so little time and money? If you can inspire your audience to answer the questions, there’s really no limit to the valuable data you can collect.

My Own Survey, And What I Learned

Two months ago, I enticed Womenwise Marketing readers to take a blogging survey by giving away 10 free advance copies of my upcoming e-book, “The Small Business Blogging Blueprint.” (I used SurveyMonkey.com, a free service.) The results not only helped me write the e-book itself, but generated several dozen new subscribers to the Womenwise Marketing e-newsletter.

I wanted to share some of the results not only because they’re a fascinating source of information, but because they may inspire you to create your own survey.

Use it to get to know your audience better, figure out what prices they’ll pay, or generate ideas for new products. Whatever you choose, the sky’s the limit.
